If it was a Canon AVCHD camcorder, which I have, I would have suggested using the bundled Pixela Video Browser software, which includes a basic editing utility for joining and trimming MTS clips, and adding transitions and titles. The Cybershot DSC-RX100 series compact/P&S cameras are capable of producing quite decent HD video - better than many in that class. Yeah, it's more a photo camera than a camcorder, but it's what I had.
